Planning Ancillary products - Overview of Do's and Don'ts

Do's and Don'ts

Do's

  • Make sure you have two clear fonts: One for the title and one for other information.
  • Ensure that the size of the fonts match with the convention of your genre
  • Do not over with the colours; MAXIMUM 3 colours. Make sure the colours complement the image of the artist.
  • Make sure your image is clear and is the right framing.
  • MUST BE INCLUDED in your ancillary work: copyright information, barcode, title of album cover, name of the artist, record music company, website, serial number, store logo.

Don'ts

  • YOU MUSN'T stretch the image as it will ruin it.
  • DO NOT use unnecessary effects that could ruin your work
  • Do not put in images that do not suit with your genre - make sure you do some research on other ancillary products.
  • YOU MUST NEVER cover your artist's face with text
