Analysis of digipaks and advertisements

Analysis of three digipaks and three advertisements

Digipak and advertisement no.1 :

'LABRINTH - ELECTRONIC EARTH'
DEBUT ALBUM FRONT COVER & ADVERTISEMENT

In the images above we see an album cover  and advertisement for a UK debut RnB/hip pop artist. In the album cover the artists face is maximises most of the space on the cover to ultimately make the artist stand out.

As it is a debut album the artist has to be the main focus. The colour scheme mainly focuses on black, blue and white and also the mixture of purple in the surface area of the glasses. The colours in this digipak allows the genre to be represented easily as it gives it a urban effect.

The use of the image that is behind the artists face of a city is used to show the link between the album name 'Electronic Earth' and the cover itself, with smokey effect to possibly establish an entrance to the music industry.

In the album cover there are only 2 types of fonts; the name of the artist is larger than the the name of the album in order for the name to stand out to the audience. The font for the name of the artist is stylised in a white line patterned way to form letters which evidently contrasts well with the dark background to make the cover stand out.
