I will use an 80's typewriter-like font which will symbolise when the Indie genre was created; in the 1980's. This font also connotes authenticity and originality through portraying the idea of self-creation.This reflects my artist as he wrote all his own songs.
I will use elements of close-ups/mid-shots of my artist as this is his first album. In order to make a clear introduction of this artist to his primary audience, his appearance has to be established to his audience.
The background colour will be a dark, ashy grey which keeps the element of simplicity to the album as that is conventional of the Indie genre and also draws more focus on the artist's name and album title.
I chose to name the album 'Nostalgia' as this portrays a sense of personal experiences in the album. Considering that the artist wrote all his songs as it is conventional of the Indie genre, the album as a whole is personal to the artist and each song represents a time in his life and that is how my Indie artist wanted to introduce himself to his target audience; on a personal level, through his songs.
On the back cover, I will keep it very simple with the background being an ashy/grey colour which is also used on the front cover, with a list of his songs. This is very simple, however it is very effective and common in the Indie music industry. I will also include the copyright info, with the record label logo and bar code.
Good outside panel mock-up. Remember to include the inside panels and the advertisement mock-up too.
